It Has Come To The End For Internet Based Windows Updates
Microsoft has changed the rules around the updates for Vista Home/Business to the more advanced systems like Premium or Ultimate and the solution is called Windows Anytime Upgrade. Earlier the customers could download a digital product code which made it possible to update the following Vista versions:
- Vista Home Basic til Home Premium
- Vista Home Basic til Ultimate
- Vista Home Premium til Ultimate
- Vista Business til Ultimate
The customers could also upgrade with the installation DVD they already got, but they have to use the downloadable product code to upgrade for a more advanced version. From Wednesday 20. February Microsoft will terminate the process and the customers has to buy an extra DVD from their locale shop. This new DVD will contain the program Windows Anytime Upgrade plus, a new product key. There will also be possibilities to fix the updates with mails to Microsoft. According to Microsoft it was the customers wish for this new update form. The reason is that many people says the find it easier, i find it however a lot harder and this is just another reason not to get Vista. The customers can however update new Windows without having the original Vista DVD. The price for the update will be at 79$ and feel free to read more about these updates on microsoft.com
