Intel Celeron with Dual Cores!
Intel is getting ready to extend the Celeron family with a new member. E1400 gets a clocking frequency on 2 GHz, 800FSB, 512 KB L2-cache and a maximum effect usage of 65 Watt. The processor I based on the Conroe design which uses 65 nm-technology. This is the second Dual Core processor from the Celeron family.
The price fir the E1400 is expected to be around 50$ when it launches next months. Intel will also probably make more Celeron Dual Core processors. All the new Celeron processors from the E1000 series will replace the older single core Celeron processors we have today. Later in 2008 we can also expect the Celeron 4000 series with a 45 nm-technology and a higher frequency.

So what. The celerons are pretty bad anyway, and will most likely be replaced within the next few years. This is, however, a nice view of what we will be getting in the high end market as far as 65 and 45 nm technologies.
