Geforce 9600 GT Review

March 01st, 2008 | Category: Reviews

Okay guys i got the new 9600 GT from a friend and i did some tests in his new rig to see what this card can do and how it performs compared to the 8800 series. Nothing was clocked everything is on fabric settings/clocks

okay here is the rig i tested the card on:

Mainboard: Abit AW9D-Max

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6700

Ram: 2 GB

PSU: 750W Chieftec Turbo

Garpahic cards: Gainward GeForce 9600 GT GS - Forceware 174.19

MSI GeForce 8800 GT - Forceware 169.25

OS: Windows XP Professional SP2
———————————————————-

Okay now that you guys know what computer i ran it on ill tell you a little bit about how the card did in 3DMark06.

The 8800 GT are still superior and i can also confirm that the new 8800 GT cards does a better performance than the 8800 768 GTX!

Anyway my score with the 8800 GT was 11032 and the 9600 GT scored 10522 this was done with standard settings. I think it is very close and this shows us how much the mid ranged cards from Nvidia has improved. It almost beats the top cards in the 8xxx series. Remember that the 8600 GT only scored about 4000-5000 on 3dmark06. Major improvement here!

9600 GT 1280×960 all settings on highest with no aa or af = 166 FPS average.

Serious Sam2:
