GeForce 9800 GX2 ready in March!

Nvidia has now told their partners that they will launch GeForce 9800 GX2 on the 11 March. Geforce 9800 GX2 is basicly only two GeForce 8800 GTS chipsets placed together on one card. The two graphic processors works in SLI mode and they work togehter to perform a good 3D rendering. It is exact;y the same as AMD uses on their Radeon HD 3870 X2 card. Amd uses however crossfire technology. The specs will be on 512 MB memory and 128 shader units for each processor. The final core speed is however still no known. A problem with a solution like this is the heat the card will produce. GeForce 9800 GX2 will also use more then 250 Watt and you need both 8 and 6 pins powersupply connection.
You can also run two GeForce 9800 GX2 cards in the same system (SLI). It is however still not known anything about the performance if you decide to run these cards in SLI. Now we just have to sit back a look if the GeForce 9800 GX2 becomes a bigger success then the older GeForce 7950 GX2 which was based on the same style.
